I am a primary teacher in East Sussex. I gained QTS in 1994 and since qualifying have taught a variety of age groups in both rural and urban settings. For the past 9 years I have taught in mixed aged classes (mainly year 5 and 6) which is challenging, but immensely rewarding.

I am committed to providing a learning environment where the needs of the children are finely balanced with skills progression and national strategies so that all children can fulfill their full potential in the areas of physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.

I believe that excellent teaching should foster a careful balance between teacher led and child initiated activities. It should build on the children’s natural curiosity and preferred  way of learning. Learning should be significant and purposeful. My passion to be a good teacher stems from my own enjoyment of learning. Sparking a life-long thirst for learning stands at the forefront of my teaching philosophy.  I believe this to be the key to a successful, positive and motivated pathway through life.
